Is there a Code of Conduct?
HomelabFest is a community-focused event. The short version: be kind, and follow the rules of the venue.
The slightly longer version:
- Be respectful. Disagree about hardware, distros, or editors all you want, but keep it about the ideas, not the person.
- Don’t harass anyone. That includes offensive comments, intimidation, unwanted physical contact or attention, and photographing or recording people who’ve asked you not to.
- Respect boundaries. If someone isn’t interested in a conversation, photo, or contact, let it go gracefully.
- Look out for each other. If something seems off, check in with the person or let staff know.
This applies to everyone at HomelabFest (attendees, speakers, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff) and to event spaces online.
Reporting a problem
If someone is making you or others uncomfortable, find a staff member (look for people in staff shirts), or contact us at help -at- homelabfest.org. Reports will be handled promptly and kept as confidential as possible. In an emergency, call 911 or alert security staff.
Consequences
HomelabFest, LLC and the venue reserve the right to deny entry or remove anyone who violates event rules, compromises the safety of others, or fails to follow staff instructions, without a refund.
